AJ Bales named Butler Athlete of the Week

AJ Bales has been named the Butler Grizzlies Athlete of the Week after his performance at the Herm Wilson Invitational at Wichita State on Thursday.

In the season-opening meet, Bales cleared a height of 14'7 ½".That effort qualified him for the season-ending national indoor meet, making Bales becomes the first Grizzly pole vaulter since 1991 to qualify for the indoor championships.

Bales is a freshman from New Port Richey, Fla.
