Javaunte Hawkins, Men's Basketball

Javaunte Hawkins, freshman point guard from Lee’s Summit, MO, helped the Grizzlies avenge an early season loss to Iowa Western as he scored a season high 19 points, leading the Grizzlies to an 81-73 win over the Reivers Tuesday night. From the point guard position, Hawkins managed the game and shared the ball well as four of the five starters scored in double figures. Hawkins biggest asset Tuesday night was his consistent free throw shooting, especially late in the contest. He finished 11-12 from the free throw line helping to seal the win for Butler. He added in two rebounds and three assists. This is the sixth game in double figure scoring for Hawkins.
