Butler finishes fourth in NATYCAA Cup standings

Helped with its first ever national title in softball and a pair of third-place finishes by women's soccer and men's track and field, Butler athletics finished fourth overall in the 2015-16 NATYCAA Cup.

The National Alliance of Two Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) announced the winners of the 2015-16 NATYCAA Cup, as Iowa Central captured the scholarship college division with 194.5 points and Suffolk County (N.Y.) won the non-scholarship division with 172.0 points.

Butler finished fourth overall with 126 points and was the top Jayhawk Conference school in the standings. The Grizzlies finished behind Iowa Central, Tyler (Texas) and Iowa Western in the standings. Butler had the second-highest total among women's athletics with 67.5 points, while the men scored 58.5.

In addition to softball's national title and soccer's third-place finish, the Butler women had two other top-10 finishes (track and field, ninth; cross country, 10th). On the men's side, football finished fifth in the NJCAA final poll and cross country placed 11th at the national meet.

Now in its 29th year, NATYCAA is the professional organization of two year college athletics administrators and membership is open to all two year institutions from throughout the country. NATYCAA is administered by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), which is in its 52nd year.
