2023-24 Athletic Training Staff

The Butler football tradition is widely acclaimed. Lesser known but just as rich, is a tradition of excellence in sports medicine. Amanda Maiden and Jared Brown look to continue that tradition. The stated goal of athletic training at Butler is care of the student-athlete, thereby granting our sports a competitive advantage and ultimately greater esteem for the entire program.

Butler’s sports medicine team consists of a full-time certified athletic trainer as well as an assistant athletic trainer, 15 student trainers, and a professional staff of more than 10 area physicians. We strongly feel Butler can't be outdone in the area of health, prevention and care. The 3,000-square-foot Abraham Sports Medicine Center was remodeled in the summer of 2011 with new flooring and wall coverings, with further upgrades planned in the near future. It also features a hydrotherapy area, which includes a six-person therapy spa, hot and cold whirlpools, the latest in ultra sound and muscle stem, cybex machine, five treatment tables, four exercise bikes and a treadmill. Any special needs can be accommodated.

Athletic Training is an Allied Health profession recognized by the American Medical Association. Athletic trainers are educated professionals who specialize in the care and prevention of athletic injuries. We also are on hand to treat and rehabilitate athletic injuries.
