Butler hosts successful alumni reunion weekend

More than 30 former Butler baseball players returned to El Dorado this past weekend for an alumni reunion.

The event included a chance to swing the sticks and socialize on Friday night under the lights at McDonald Stadium, with batting practice thrown by current assistant coach Jason Santangelo and former head coach and Butler Athletics Hall of Fame inductee B.D. Parker.

On Saturday, the alumni played against the current team. Following the alumni game, many of the former players toured the new BG Products Veterans Sports Complex and watched the Butler football team defeat Coffeyville that night.

The baseball squad has finished up the fall scrimmage portion of its schedule. The 2013 season is schedule to start Feb. 7 at Emporia State JV.
