The Butler baseball team fell in an 8-1 home contest to Labette in non-conference Tuesday.
The loss dropped the Grizzlies to 19-15 overall.
Labette took a 1-0 lead after the first inning, then broke the game open with a six-run fourth inning.
Butler finally got on the scoreboard in the sixth when Evan Koehler hit a single to score Dalton Wheat to make the score 7-1.
Butler (14-10 Jayhawk West) will return to conference action this weekend with a four-game series at Hutchinson. The doubleheaders will start at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The Grizzlies are two games back of division leader Seward County and are tied with Garden City for fourth place.
The Grizzlies will return home with a nine-inning game against Tabor JV on Monday at 4 p.m.
