Four Grizzlies named NJCAA All-Americans

The Butler Grizzlies had four players earn All-American honors as the NJCAA has released its selections for the 2012 football season.

Offensive lineman John McClure highlights the list, as the sophomore was named to the first-team offense. It marks the second straight season that McClure was named as an All-American, as he made the second-team offensive list as a freshman. McClure started all 12 games this season at left tackle for the Grizzlies.

Sophomore receiver Javess Blue earned second-team offensive honors. Blue led the Grizzlies in receptions (65), yards (1,064) and receiving touchdowns (12). Blue also ranked among the top 10 in the nation for all three categories.

Sophomore defensive back Tate Omli received second-team defensive honors. Omli had 87 tackles and four interceptions.

Linebacker Tommy Sanders earned honorable mention defensive honors, as the sophomore had 71 tackles and led the Grizzlies' defense with eight sacks. He also finished with a team-high 20 tackles for loss and was second with 12 pass breakups.
