Stiger recognized as National Defensive 'Player of the Week'

After being awarded Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Deensive Player of the Week, Nickendre Stiger, freshman defensive back from Wichita, KS, was named the NJCAA National Defensive 'Player of the Week' after a season best performance Saturday night in the Grizzlies 34-7 win over Highland. Stiger picked off conference passing yards  leader, Highland's quarterback Quinn Buessing twice Saturday night putting a halt to the Scotties offense in the second half. Stiger also recorded six tackles and had a pass breakup in the Grizzlies victory. This makes back to back week's that Stiger has recorded an interception as he had a pick six last week at Coffeyville. Stiger has recorded 18 tackles this season and 1.5 for a loss.

This is the frist time this season a Grizzly football player has been recognized on the national level.
