Lassiter named KJCCC 'Offensive Player of the Week'

For the first time this season, a Butler Grizzly has picked up KJCCC 'Player of the Week' honors passed down from the conference office. This week, Darius Lassiter was named the 'Offensive Player of the Week' after a stellar performance on the field last Saturday night in Hutchinson.

For the second week in a row, Darius Lassiter, junior wide receiver from Lawrence, KS, racked up over 100+ yards receiving and two touchdowns as the Grizzlies defeated the Blue Dragons on the road 43-23 Saturday night in Gowans Stadium. Lassiter had seven receptions totaling 108 yards with two touchdowns in the game. He averaged 15.4 yards per catch and made a highlight reel one-handed grab in the first quarter that sparked the Butler offense. Lassiter has seven catches this season for 240 yards and five touchdowns, tied for NJCAA best.
