Grizzlies move up a spot to No. 9

In a week that saw the Grizzlies home non-conference game with McDougle Technical Institute get pushed back a couple weeks, Butler was still able to make a move in the National Poll moving up a spot to No. 9 this week.

The Grizzlies are 3-1 on the season with their lone loss coming in a 50-49 battle with No. 6 Snow College (UT). Butler has wins over Garden City, Highland and Independence.

Butler travels this week to face the No. 2 team in the nation in the Hutchinson Blue Dragons in Hutchinson Saturday night at 7:00pm.

Two Jayhawk teams are in the NJCAA Top-10 with Hutchinson at No. 2 and Butler at No. 9 while Independence and Coffeyville are both receiving votes this week. Coffeyville nearly had the upset of Hutchinson this past weekend falling in the final minutes 14-9 at home.

Saturday will be the Grizzlies fourth game played this season against a NJCAA Top-15 team at the time of the game. They played Garden City when they were ranked No. 7. They played Snow when the Badgers were No. 10, they defeated the Pirates when they were ranked No. 15 and now they will square off against the No. 2-ranked Blue Dragons.
