Sean Osler honored with 2012 Brian Jackson Most Inspirational Player award

Butler freshman guard Sean Osler was honored at halftime of the Butler men's basketball game against Colby as he was presented with the 2012 Brian Jackson Most Inspirational Player award by head coach Mike Bargen.

The award is named for former Butler standout Brian Jackson, who was a part of the 1992-93 and 1993-94 Butler teams. He was a key member of the 1993-94 team that went undefeated in conference play at 14-0.

He later finished his collegiate playing career at Evansville and would go into coaching where he would serve as head coach at both Pratt and Cowley community colleges. Jackson passed away unexpectedly in 2008 at the age of 34.

To honor the memory of Jackson and the way he played the game, the Most Inspirational Player award was established in 2010. The first recepient was Troy Pierce.  Last year's honoree was Caydrick Bloomquist.

Members of the Jackson family were on hand for the award presentation. Donations were accepted for the third straight year, with all funds going toward college expenses for Jackson's three children.
