Butler sophomore guard Shomari Triggs received All-Region VI second-team honors, as released by the conference on Wednesday.
Triggs, Sean Goodwin and Bakari Triggs were also recently selected to the Jayhawk East All-Conference team. Shomari Triggs received first-team All-Conference honors, while Goodwin received second-team and Bakari Triggs took home honorable-mention honors.
Shomari Triggs, a shooting guard from Milwaukee, Wis., led the Grizzlies in scoring (16.7 ppg), assists (4.9) and steals (2.0). Triggs, who received All-Jayhawk West honorable mention honors last year, also was Butler's top free-throw shooter as he made nearly 82 percent (182-of-223).
Goodwin, a Hutchinson native, played in all 32 games and averaged 10.4 points per game. An honorable mention selection last year, Goodwin was the Grizzlies' second-leading rebounder (4.5 rpg).
Bakari Triggs, a guard from Milwaukee, Wis., averaged 11.0 points per game and led the team in made three-pointers (41). Triggs was second on the team in assists (3.2 apg) and averaged 4.0 rebounds per game
The Butler men ended its season with a 71-61 loss to Hutchinson in the Region VI quarterfinal round last Thursday at Wichita State's Koch Arena. The Grizzlies finished with a 22-10 overall record and a third-place finish in the Jayhawk East.
