The Butler men continued their winning ways with a seventh straight victory Saturday in an 87-69 home win over Labette at the McDonald's Classic.

Butler (7-3) was led in scoring by sophomores Travis House and Damien Akao, both with 15 points. House hit 5-of-8 from three-point range, while Akao made 3-of-8 beyond the arc. Daven Joseph added 14 points (5-of-7 shooting) with seven rebounds in the win.

Akao scored 13 of his 15 points in the first half, helping the host Grizzlies to a 40-24 halftime lead. The sophomore guard hit a three-pointer and a layup late in the first half to build Butler's lead to 16 (31-15).

Labette took its only lead in the opening minutes on a Sam Eckles layup, but Butler answered with a 9-0 run. Caelan Neal, Ken Perkins and Daven Joseph all hit field goals, then Derrick Byrd made a three-pointer during the run.

Butler opened the second half with a 15-3 run, with Joseph scoring the first five points - a layup, dunk and 1-of-2 made free throws. House would hit two treys in the run to put the Grizzlies up 55-27 with 15:04 remaining. The 28-point margin would be Butler's largest lead of the game.
