No. 2 Hutchinson handles Butler men, 109-82

HUTCHINSON, Kan. - The Butler men had won four of their past five games against Hutchinson in the Sports Arena coming into Wednesday's game, but the Grizzlies weren't so fortunate this time, falling 109-82 to the No. 2-ranked Blue Dragons.

Butler had a couple of early leads against high-powered Hutchinson, the biggest being 12-9 after a Will Adler 3-pointer with 14:36 left in the first half. 

Butler still led 14-13 before Hutchinson went on a 9-0 run to take a 22-14 lead. The Blue Dragons went on to lead 56-36 at the half.

Hutchinson would build its lead to as many as 41 points in the second half before Butler finished the game on a 28-14 run to reduce the final margin to 27.

Johnnathan Lindsey led Butler with 17 points and just missed a double-double with nine rebounds. Semaj Hervey and Will Adler had 11 apiece while Karlon McSpadden scored 10.

Butler is now 7-4 on the season and 4-4 in Jayhawk Conference play. Hutchinson improved to 12-0 overall and 8-0 in conference.

Butler finishes the first semester with a game Sunday at Cloud County.
