The Butler men scored a season-high in a 122-82 pounding of Pratt at the Power Plant on Wednesday night in the first game back from a three-week holiday break.
The 122 points eclipse the 121 points Butler scored against Tabor JV on November 8.
The 122 points are also potentially a program record for points in a game against a Jayhawk Conference opponent. Though records are spotty, the previous high appears to be 118 in a game against Garden City in 1993.
It is the highest-scoring Butler game overall since a 125-75 win over Raleigh's Finest in the 2013 season opener.
Butler started quickly in the contest, leading 9-1 before Pratt scored its first basket. The Grizzlies led 30-17 at the midway point of the first half, then scored 11 straight, taking a 41-17 lead with 7:39 left in the half after a Tevin Berry layup.
Pratt went scoreless over the final 5:31 of the first half and Butler scored the final 14 points, taking a 61-24 lead at intermission.
The 61 points is the most in a first half this season. Butler also scored 61 in the second half, and the two halves are tied for the second highest-scoring half this season behind a 66-point second half against Tabor JV.
The Grizzlies hit the century mark when DeQuan Love made a bucket inside and was fouled with 8:39 to go. His free throw put Butler ahead 100-57.
Butler shot a season-high 62.5 percent from the floor, making 45 of 72 shots attempted. That included 14-27 shooting from three-point range (52 percent) and 18-22 from the free throw line (82 percent). The Grizzlies out-rebounded Pratt 43-30, had 24 assists and blocked six shots.
Six players scored in double figures, led by a career-high 23 points from freshman Ketarrious Bouchum. Johnnathan Lindsey had a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Ken Perkins just missed one with 18 points and nine rebounds. He also blocked four shots, playing in his second game of the season, his first since the season opener.
Jacolby Harris scored 14 points and LaJuan Hardy and LaDarrian Burney had 10 points apiece. Hardy led Butler with seven assists. Every Grizzly in uniform scored in the win and all five players off the bench scored at least eight points.
Butler improves to 8-5 on the season and is now back even in Jayhawk Conference play at 5-5. Pratt is now 4-9 overall and 2-8 in conference play. The Grizzlies take to the road on Saturday to face Coffeyville, which is 11-3 (7-3 KJCCC) after an 89-84 home win over Garden City on Wednesday.
