Butler handles Hesston in 90-67 road win

HESSTON, Kan. – The Butler men had five players in double figures in a 90-67 win on the road at Hesston on Wednesday.

The Grizzlies got an early 3-pointer by Immanuel Allen to take a 3-0 lead, but later trailed Hesston 10-8. Allen would hit a jump shot to tie the game with 14:57 left in the first half, followed by a dunk by Tyrone Coley and a 3-pointer by Jaden Lee as part of a 7-0 Butler run.

Butler would not trail again. The Grizzlies would go on an 11-0 run later in the half, getting a 3-pointer from Kamron Brice to go up 30-16 with 8:12 left in the period.

The Grizzlies led by as many as 18 in the first half and were up 46-32 at halftime.

Hesston would go on a 6-0 run, cutting Butler's lead to 49-40 early in the second half.

Hesston would get within seven points after Cal Hartley drained a 3-pointer with 9:03 left in the game that made it 63-56.

Butler responded with a 17-3 run to put the game away, going up 80-61 after a basket by Tyrone Coley with 3:32 remaining. The lead would hit 20 points after a pair of free throws by Juwan White with 1:55 to play that made the score 84-64.

Butler had five players in double figures, led by 17 from Jaden Lee. Tyrone Coley scored 15 and Juwan White had 12. Mohamed Fofana and Immanuel Allen scored 11 apiece, while Jon'il Fugett had 10. Fofana led Butler with 10 rebounds, recording his first double-double of the season.

The Grizzlies are now 2-2 on the season. They will embark on a run of seven straight home games, beginning with a 7 p.m. tipoff at home against Bethel College JV on Saturday.
