Kamron Brice scores season high leading men to road victory

Kamron Brice scored a season high 22 points Saturday afternoon leading Butler to a convincing 90-75 road win over Allen, the Grizzlies nineteenth win of the season.

"We really guarded it today," said head coach Kyle Fisher. "I was so proud of our defensive effort today and it showed on the scoreboard." 

With the win, Butler improves to 19-6 overall and 12-4 in KJCCC play. Butler is still two games back of KJCCC East division leader Cowley but holds a two-game lead over Independence who is currently in third place.

The Grizzlies had one of their best shooting days from behind the arc connecting on 10-23 from deep for 43.5%. They made 16-19 from the free throw line and shot 47% from the floor.

Kamron Brice scored a point under his career high (23) going off for 22 points to lead all scorers in the contest. He added in seven rebounds to go along with his game high. Javaunte Hawkins connected on 4-6 from deep and finished with 18 points while dishing out five assists and picking up two steals. Grehlon Easter finished a perfect 5-5 from the free throw line to go along with his 17 point eight rebound performance and Marque English was the other Grizzly in double figures finishing with 10 points and four rebounds.

Butler now looks to avenge their January 18th loss to Independence as the Pirates come to the Power Plant on Monday, February 10th at 7:30pm. The Grizzlies look to hold add another game between them and the Pirates in the KJCCC East standings with just four regular season games remaining.
