Butler Men fall on the road to Seward County

Story by Kalon Fullerton

A second half rally was not enough as the Grizzly men dropped a second straight conference
game, losing a close one on the road at Seward, falling 80-75 in The Greenhouse in Liberal,
Kansas on Saturday.

The Grizzlies outscored the Saints 44-38 in the second half but couldn't get the baskets they
needed to come all the way back. The Grizzlies were carried by a season high scoring game from Isaiah Williams
who finished with 18 points. It was another unusually cold night for Butler from deep. After shooting 16% against Colby, the Grizzlies again struggled from three point range, shooting just 23% from behind the three point line. Butler was able to win the battle inside, finishing with 36
points in the paint.

The Saints were able to shoot well, finishing at 45% from the field, and they made six three
pointers, which proved to be the difference in a close game. Butler was out-rebounded by the
Saints, the first time that Kyle Fisher's squad lost the battle of the boards this season.

Isaiah Williams led the Grizzlies in rebounds, finishing with eight, just two short of a double-double.
The Grizzlies forced 19 points off turnovers, led by Isaac Ondekane's two steals.
The Grizzlies fall to 6-2 overall and will suffer their second conference loss to fall to 0-2
in conference play. The Grizzlies will hope to bounce back in Jayhawk Conference action as
they host Northwest Tech at the Power Plant on Tuesday at 7:30.
