Distance Medley Relay team qualifies for nationals at KU meet

The Butler Community College Track and Field Team traveled to Lawrence, Kansas to compete in the KU Jayhawk Classic.

Freshman sprinter Remona Burchell had a great day. Burchell won the 60M dash in an outstanding time of 7.54. This time currently ranks her second in the NJCAA rankings and third all-time at Butler CC. She also hit the qualifying time in the 200M.

Pole Vaulter AJ Bales continued his great freshman season by improving his National Qualify height when he hit a new person best height of 15' 1 ½". 
 
Rounding out the National Qualifiers for the meet was the Men's Distance Medley Relay team.  The team of Jameson Fay, Emanuel Thornton, Coty Williams and Kelvin Busienei ran 10:39.38 to make it to the NJCAA Championships in March.
 
The next action for the Grizzlies and Lady Grizzlies will be February 3rd and 4th at the University of Nebraska.
