Butler women 11th, men 16th at NJCAA Indoor Championships

The Butler track and field teams finished up today at the NJCAA Indoor championships with the Grizzlies placing several entries into the top 10 nationally.

As a team, the Butler women were just one point away from the top 10, finishing 11th. The men were 16th nationally.

Individually, the top finish came from Kelvin Busienei, who finished third in the 1,000 meter run in a time of 2:32. He also finished fourth in the mile in 4:19.

On the women's side, Remona Burchell was fourth in the 200 in 24.77 and fifth in the 60 in a time of 7.51. The 4x400 relay team of Leticia Bigby, Carole Idolphine, Remona Burchell and Juliette Gourdet also finished fourth in a time of 4:00.90.

The track and field squads will now turn their attention to the outdoor season, which begins March 23 at the Alex Francis Relays in Hays.
