Butler men have four top-10 finishes at national meet

LUBBOCK, Texas -- The Butler men's indoor track and field team had four top-ten finishes at the NJCAA Indoor National Championships this past weekend.

Butler freshman sprinter Alfred Larry took sixth place in the 400-meter dash with a 47.97 time in the finals. The mark was the fifth-best all time in school history. Larry, along with Paris Carson, Steven Calloway and DeMarquis Mims, were part of the 4x400-meter relay team that placed fourth.

The men's distance medley relay team of Taylor Parker, Mims, Coty Williams and Israel Mendoza finished fifth with a time of 10:26.73. Freshman Tyler Knight set the third-best school record and placed eighth in the pole vault.

The men's team finished overall in 18th place with 12.5 points.
