Men's 4x400m relay nearly sets school record at Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas - The Butler men's 4x400-meter relay team of Steven Calloway, Shaquille Alleyne, Evel Jones and Alfred Larry nearly set a school record Saturday at the Texas Relays.

The Grizzly team ran a blistering 3:09.59 time, which was third-best among junior colleges behind South Plains (3:05.06) and West Texas (3:07.26). The Butler school record in the 4x400m relay is 3:08.14, set by the 1984 team that included Butch Reynolds.

The women's 4x400-meter relay team of Jonelle Reinert, Ashanna Hodge, Nhaieemah Horne and Abiane Collymore qualified for the NJCAA national meet with a time of 3:57.61. Hodge also dropped two seconds off her time in the women's 400-meter hurdles, running in 1:03.96.
