Butler's Lewis Cain sets school record in men's heptathlon

WICHITA, Kan. — Butler sophomore Lewis Cain set a school record in the men's heptathlon at the Herm Wilson Invitational at Wichita State University on Saturday.

Cain scored 4,371 points, finishing in ninth place. The previous high-point total by a Grizzly was 4,236 points (Austin Rembert, 2010 Region VI Championships at Kansas State University).

In addition to Cain's performance, the Grizzly men had three other athletes place in the top 10. Freshmen Ronaldo Griffin (400-meter dash, 50.99 seconds) and Kaden Davis (long jump, 6.53 meters) both took first place in their events.

Freshman Abiodun David also took sixth place in the shot put event with a top throw of 12.57 meters.

Next up for the Butler track and field team will be a trip to Lubbock, Texas for the Texas Tech Invitational on Friday, February 9.
