Shawn Brown sets school record in the 200m dash at the Washburn Rust Buster

The Butler Grizzlies traveled to the Kansas Capitol to compete in their third meet of the 2023 indoor season as they competed in the Washburn University Rust Buster in Topeka, Kansas on Saturday.

It was a big day for Shawn Brown as he set a facility record in the Men's 200 meters, winning the race with a time of 21.07, beating the previous facility record, a time of 21.33. Brown also claimed a victory in the 60 meters, cruising to a victory with a time of 6.70, almost a full second ahead of the second place finisher.

It was also a good day at the track for Nazzio John, as he won the 400 meters with a time of 48.46. On the women's side, it was Star Mpama who finished fourth with a time of 1:29.23. Trishanie Warner finished eighth for the Grizzlies in the 400 meter, coming in at 1:00.11. 

The Grizzlies will travel to Pittsburg, Kansas for their next meet, their fourth of the indoor season. as they compete in the Pitt State Invitational next Saturday.
