Butler Athletics Celebrates 27 Indoor Track and Field All-American Awards

After placing top eight in twelve events at the NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, fifteen Butler Indoor Track and Field athletes take home 27 all American medals.

Both the Men's and Women's Distance Medley teams took seventh place; the women's team comprised of Mallory Bowden, Star Mpama, Gabriella Gordon and Khloi Bird finished with a time of 13:03. The men's team of Andrew Leck, Bennett Feldenkirchen, Zach Trotter, and Wail Bourahli also finished with a time of 10:02.

The Women's 4x400 meter relay team of Star Mpama, Vionce Olivares, Trishanie Warner, and Tashira Edwards took eighth place with a time of 3:54. The Men's 4x400 meter relay team of Nazzio John, Wail Bourahli, Ryan Chacon, and Shawn Brown took seventh place with a time of 3:14. 

Finishing in fourth place in the 4x800 meter relay was the team of Andrew Leck, Wail Bourahli, Abdelhakim Boukhair, and Zach Trotter.

As for individual events, Star Mpama placed seventh in the Women's 600 meter run with a time of 1:36. Taking seventh in the Women's 3000 meter run was Khloi Bird with a time of 10:42.Butler had two medalists in the Men's 60 meter dash. Nazzio John took third with a time of 6.66 and Shawn Brown took sixth with a time of 6.74.Additionally, the Grizzlies had two medalists in the Men's 800 meter run as Wail Bourahli placed fourth with a time of 1:52 followed by Zach Trotter just one second later in fifth place with a time of 1:53.Shawn Brown also finished fifth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.11.
