The Butler cross country teams hosted the Butler XC Relays on Friday at Wartick Ranch south of El Dorado.

The format featured teams of two runners. The first runner completed a 5k (3.1 mile), then handed off a bracelet to their partner, who also ran a 5k for a combined 10k time.

A Butler duo was the champions on the men's side. Kelvin Busienei and Benson Langat teamed up to finish the 10k in a time of 32:30.

On the women's side, a pair of Butler alumni (Sydnee Cole and Elida Bailon) teamed up to win in a time of 39:36. Current Butler runners Fiona Masai and Mychreesha Ward were second in a combined time of 40:24.

The season is winding down for Butler, with the next meet being the Jayhawk Conference/Region VI meet at Garden City on Monday, Oct. 31, followed by the national meet in New Mexico on Nov. 12.
