Butler men, women both finish third at Ollie Isom Invitational

The Butler cross country teams each finished third at the 25th annual Ollie Isom Invitational held Friday afternoon at Wartick Ranch in rural El Dorado.

Wichita State was the men's team champion and Colby Community College won the women's race.

Fiona Masai won the individual women's race for the Grizzlies, covering the 4k course in a time of 15:50. Teammate Abiane Collymore was eighth overall in a time of 16:27.41. Aadrian McCollum (26th in 18:19.89), Jonelle Reinert (28th in 18:42.67), Caitlin Bales (31st in 19:27.17) and Carole Idolphine (32nd in 19:26.17) rounded out the Butler women's team.

Cesar Sanabria was the top men's finisher for Butler, placing third behind Wichita State's Ryan Hocker and Kayson Matthews in a time of 16:10.84.

Dale Nuckolls finished 14th overall in 17:03.81 for the Grizzlies. Taylor Parker was Butler's third finisher, placing 16th in a time of 17:12.51, just ahead of teammates Israel Mendoza and Eric Minjarez, who were 17th and 18th, respectively.

The meet was the final race of the regular season for Butler. The Grizzlies will head to Johnson County for the Region VI/Jayhawk West Conference meet next Saturday.
