Butler releases challenging 2013 spring schedule

The Butler softball team has released their 2013 spring schedule, which is once again loaded with opponents who were in the national rankings a year ago.

The Grizzlies will play at least 15 games against opponents who were ranked in the NJCAA national rankings a year ago, including the first game of the season. Butler will start the season in McKinney, Texas where the Grizzlies will face NJCAA Division II national runner-up LSU-Eunice.

"We take pride in the fact that we play the toughest schedule of any Kansas junior college." Said head coach Doug Chance. "It not only prepares us to play on a national level, but also prepares our players for when they go on to the next level."

Butler will head to Texas three times in the month of February to play in tournaments which feature top 20 teams from all over the country. In addition, the Grizzlies will play tournaments in Carthage, Mo., Parsons, Colby, Broken Arrow, Okla., and will host the three day Buco Bash in El Dorado in April.
