Butler softball remains atop NJCAA poll for second straight week

For the second consecutive week, Butler softball remained in the top spot of the NJCAA Division I poll, which was released Tuesday.

With a pair of run-rule wins at Pratt on Monday, Butler (28-0 overall, 6-0 conference) extended its school-record winning streak to 68 consecutive games and is the only remaining undefeated team in the rankings. The Grizzlies also set a school record with their 29th straight conference victory, eclipsing the 28-game conference win streak set between 2012 and 2014.

Florida Southwestern State (36-3) and Chipola, Fla., (33-2) flipped positions in the rankings, with Southwestern moving into the second spot. Central Florida (25-6) and Salt Lake (15-4) stayed in the fourth and fifth position for the second straight week.

The Grizzlies will next be in action Wednesday in a Jayhawk Conference doubleheader against Garden City (11-19 overall, 0-4 conference). First pitch from East Park is at 2:00 p.m.
