Butler's Minor named NJCAA Division I Player of the Week

Butler sophomore outfielder/pitcher Brynn Minor was named the NJCAA Division I Player of the Week for April 10-16.

In four games, Minor hit .692 (9-of-13) with four home runs, two doubles, a walk, six RBI and eight runs scored. The Wichita, Kan., native homered in all four games this week.

Against Dodge City on Wednesday, Minor went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a home run and drove in three runs in the first game. She added a solo homer in the second game.

On Thursday versus Pratt, Minor was 2-for-2 with three runs scored, three RBI, one home run, and a stolen base in Game 1. In the second game against the Beavers, Minor went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored, and one RBI.

After 44 games this season, Minor is hitting .500 with 22 home runs, 74 runs batted in, 59 runs scored, 15 doubles and three triples. She is currently on a 28-game hitting streak, hitting .602 (50-of-83) during the streak with 17 home runs, 57 runs batted in, 46 runs scored, 12 doubles and three triples.

Minor is the second Grizzly player to receive national weekly honors, as pitcher Regan Mergele was named NJCAA Division I Pitcher of the Week for the week of Feb. 13-19.
