Butler women beat Southwestern JV for fifth straight win

EL DORADO, Kan. – The butler women won their fifth game in a row with an easy 78-43 victory over Southwestern College JV. The win improves the overall season record to 7-1.

The Grizzlies took control early on baskets courtesy of freshman duo  Destiny Whitehead and Jamillah Bonner. From there, Butler never looked back.

Leading the Grizzlies was Freshman Jamillah Bonner with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Also scoring were Mia Wesley with 12, Tysia Manuel 10, Samantha Satterlee 9, Destiny Whitehead 7, Takoya Thompson 6, Asia Watson 5, April Miller and Tonya Elliott-Salas each had 4, Kiara O'Neal and Jordyn Tolefree chipped in 2 apiece to round out the scoring for Butler.

The Grizzlies again take the floor on Tuesday night, Nov. 22 as they travel to Independence Community College. Tip time has been moved to 7 p.m.
