Butler women knock off unbeaten Iowa Western, 56-54

CONCORDIA, KAN – The Butler women's basketball team defeated previously unbeaten Iowa Western by a 56-54 score on Saturday, coming back from an 11-point deficit in the second half to grab the win. The deciding points came on a pair of free throws by Destiny Whitehead with 1.2 seconds to go in the game, when she had been fouled on a 3-point shot attempt.

Jamillah Bonner led Butler with 21 points in the game and a team-high eight rebounds. Also entering the scoring column was fellow freshman Destiny Whitehead who finished with eight points, Imari Lyons with five, Samantha Satterlee and Tonya Elliott-Salas both had four points apiece, Takoya Thompson, Jordyn Tolefree, Christy Couey and April Miller with three points each, and Kiara O'Neal had two points.

The win moved the Grizzlies to 8-2 on the season.
