Grizzlies sign six in-state players for 2012-13 season

Butler coach Mike Helmer has received signed national letters of intent from six in-state student-athletes. Katie Andersen, Tanner Hein, Chelsea Hodison, Ashlee Ivy,  Peyton Michalski, and Shayla Whitebird have each announced their intentions to continue their basketball careers at Butler Community College.

"We are very excited about this class," Helmer said. "We are going to expect big things from this group moving forward."

Three of the signees finished their high school careers by winning state championships - Ivy's Wichita Heights team won 6A, Anderson's Kapaun Mt. Carmel team won 5A and Hein led McPherson to the 4A championship - while Michalski's team finished third at the 5A state tournament.

Peyton Michalski – Topeka Seaman HS – Topeka, KS – 5'8 - Guard

  • 2011-12 Third place finisher at the State Tournament
