Bonner named Jayhawk Conference Player of the Week

Butler Sophomore Jamillah Bonner was named KJCCC Verizon Wireless Player of the Week officials announced Tuesday. 

Bonner, has had a great start to her sophomore campaign for ButlerLast Tuesday (Nov. 6) against Allen County, Bonner had 24 points and 11 rebounds in a 79-55 win for Butler. Then on Friday (Nov 9), Bonner had 19 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals in just 19 minutes against St. Gregory's JV. Bonner also connected on five of six shots from the charity stripe helping Butler to a school record 115-24 win

For the week, Bonner averaged 21.5 points and 9.5 rebounds while helping her team go 2-0. Through four games, Bonner is the leading scorer on a team averaging 22.5 points per game. Overall, Bonner isaveraging 23.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per contest while shooting 49 percent from the field and 80 percent from the free throw line to lead her team to a 4-0 record.
