Bonner named Jayhawk Conference Player of the Week for second time

For the second time this season, Butler sophomore Jamillah Bonner has been named the KJCCC Verizon Wireless Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 9, 2012.

Helping the Grizzlies to wins over Neosho County, Murray State (Okla.) and Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa, Bonner averaged 21.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 4.0 steals per contest during the week. Bonner also shot 45 percent from the field, including 33 percent from three-point range and 70 percent from the free-throw line.

Bonner had 18 points, seven rebounds and six steals in a 64-44 road win at Neosho on Dec. 3, then equaled her season-high with 26 points in an 85-41 home rout of Murray State on Dec. 5. Bonner added nine rebounds and three steals in the win. She would finish out the week with a 20-point, 13-rebound performance in a 84-48 win over Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa on Dec. 8. The double-double is Bonner's fourth of the season.

Bonner previously earned weekly honors for the week of Nov. 5-11.
