Butler women race past Southwestern JV in home opener

The Butler women scored the first 10 points of their game against Southwestern College JV and never looked back, rolling to a 90-49 win in the home opener on Tuesday. 

The Grizzlies outscored Southwestern 29-4 through the first 10 minutes and led 48-26 at the half. The Grizzlies shot at 53 percent from the field, making 38 of 72 shots in the game.

Butler had four players in double figures, including Te'era Williams, who led all scorers with 20 points. Teanna Reid had 18 points, Ashley Gibson had 12 and Ashlee Ivy had another double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Tiffany Regier had 19 points to pace Southwestern.

The Grizzlies are now 4-1 on the season and will go on the road for two games this weekend at Iowa Western – vs Cloud County on Friday at 1:30 and against the home team on Saturday at 5 p.m.
