Butler women race to 104-40 home victory over Tabor JV

The Butler women raced out to an early 15-0 lead and never slowed down as they cruised passed the Tabor JV Bluejays 104-40 in a non-conference game on Monday at the Power Plant.

The Grizzlies outscored the Bluejays 25-10 within the first 10 minutes and ended the first half on a 23-5 run to take a 48-15 lead at the break. Butler was led by Te'era Williams with 16 first half points while Ashley Gibson added 11 points and 8 rebound. The Bluejays were held to just 21 percent shooting from the floor in the half while the Grizzlies shot 40 percent with 26 of their points coming in the paint.

Butler picked up right where it left off in the first half, going on a 19-4 run to take a 67-19 lead with 12:30 remaining in the game. Four Grizzlies were in double figures, led by Te'era Williams who finished with 24 points and nine rebounds, followed by Ashley Gibson with 20 points and 11 rebounds while Chelsea Hodison added 15 points and Shayla Williams finished with 10 points.

The Grizzlies move to 11-1 on the season with nine consecutive wins. Butler's next action will come quickly with a home game against a 9-2 Barton squad on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
