EL DORADO, Kan. – The Butler women's basketball staff has announced the entire slate of games for the upcoming season today.
The Grizzlies, who posted a 34-3 mark en-route to an Elite 8 appearance last season, will open regular season play on Nov. 1 against Seminole State College (Okla.) in El Dorado.
Overall, Butler's 29-game schedule will feature 14 contests inside the friendly confines of the Power Plant. The Grizzlies have been dominate at home having gone 31-1 (97%) in the Power Plant over the last two seasons.
The Grizzlies will make their first road trip of the year on Nov. 3 when they travel to Iola to take on Allen County. The four-game road trip is followed by contests at Redlands (Okla.), and a pair of games in the Angelina (TX) Road Runner Classic before returning home to face Neosho County on Nov. 11.
The Conference portion of Butler's schedule will begin on Jan. 3 with the home opener of Jayhawk Conference play against Garden City. The Grizzlies will then head to Hutchinson for a tilt with the Blue Dragons on Jan. 11 to open the road portion of the conference slate. Butler has averaged 11 conference wins over the last 3 seasons including a Jayhawk East Conference Championship last season and a perfect 12-0 conference record.
Butler will conclude the regular season on Feb. 25 when it plays host to Dodge City.
The Region VI Tournament will take place Feb. 28 at top seed's home sites, while the remainder of the Region Championship games will be play at Wichita State University's Koch Arena March 4-7.
