SEMINOLE, Okla. – Ashley Gibson connected on 13-of-21 (62 percent) shots, grabbed 11 rebounds and scored a career-high 37 points as No. 9 Butler broke away from Seminole State 74-59 on the road Saturday. Sophomores Katie Palmer and Elayna Spilker added 10 points apiece for the Grizzlies (5-2), while freshman Nia Roberts was a key contributor finishing with three points, a career-high six assists and four rebounds. Spilker's 10 points was also a career high.

The first half was back and forth, as the Grizzlies went into the halftime intermission leading 42-38. A Gibson driving layup at the 14:42 mark of the second half gave the Grizzlies a 46-43 lead, a lead that Butler would not surrender. It was then that the Grizzlies used a 14-5 run to put the game out of reach for good. Gibson matched Seminole State's entire second-half points production with 21 points, while connecting on 11-of-13 (85 percent) from the charity stripe for the game.  

As a team, Butler finished with 18 assists on 23-of-55 shooting from the field (42 percent) and hit 25-of-29 (86 percent) from the free throw line. The Grizzlies out-rebounded the Belles 36-to-26, held them to just 28.5 percent (14-of-49) shooting from the field and forced 14 Seminole State turnovers.

Also scoring for the Grizzlies was Kynadi Johnson with six points, Millie Shade with four, and Sarah Parker and Ashlyn McBride finished with two points apiece.  

The Grizzlies return home on Tuesday Nov. 18, as they look to extend their 26-game home winning streak that dates back to January of 2013. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
