Butler's Hannah earns Top 40 Honors

Butler forward Kyeria Hannah was recently named to join the NJCAA Coaches Association All-Star weekend in Niceville, Fla.

Hannah has accepted the invitation to play in the All Star weekend as one of the top 40 returning Junior College players nationally. The 40 players will be broken into four teams and each team will play twice during the weekend event. Numerous NCAA Division I and Division II coaches will be in attendance to take in the event as well.

"We are very proud of Keke and excited for her to have this opportunity," said Butler Head Women's Basketball Coach Mike Helmer. "This is an example of what hard work can produce."

Kyeria, the 6'1 Oklahoma product, just finished her freshman year for the Grizzlies where she averaged 9.3 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while shooting 43.6 percent from the field and 72.2 percent from the free throw line. For her efforts, Hannah was named Honorable Mention All-Conference.

Hannah joins an elite group of Grizzlies that have been invited to the event. Former Grizzlies garnering such accolades include Jamillah Bonner, Ashlee Ivy, Ashley Gibson and current Butler Assistant Coach Abby Fawcett.

The event will be held July 21-24, 2016.
