RaVon Nero earns Div. I KJCCC ‘Player of the Week’ honors

For the first time this season, Butler women's basketball player RaVon Nero has earned Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference 'Player of the Week' honors.

Announced last week, Nero was selected as the week four Division I 'Player of the Week' on the women's side.

Nero, the sophomore guard from Edmond, OK, helped Butler to a NJCAA Top 20 win where she scored 28 points leading the Grizzlies to a 76-69 victory over No. 17 ranked Northern Oklahoma College-Enid. Nero shot 67% from the floor and connect on three of her four three-point attempts. In her 32 minutes of play, she chalked up 28 points, five rebounds, three steals, one assist, one block and only had one turnover in the contest. This was Nero's third 20+ point game this season.

Since this honor, Nero scored 15 points in the Grizzlies loss at Seward and scored 11 points in their win Saturday on the road at Colby.

This is the first Grizzly women's basketball player to earn this honor this season.
