Grizzlies fall on the road in Coffeyville

The Coffeyville Red Ravens led wire to wire in the second half after leading by just one point at halftime, as they avenged a blowout loss at the Power Plant earlier in the season, beating the Butler Grizzlies 65-51 in Coffeyville on Saturday.

The Grizzlies got 11 points from Kaylee Nero, but couldn't get any other offense going. The Grizzlies shot just 30% and went just 4-23 from three point range.

Butler managed to overcome a double digit lead in the first quarter as they went into the locker room down only two points. But the Ravens opened the second half with two quick threes, going on an 11-0 run, and the Grizzlies never recovered.

The Grizzlies outrebounded Coffeyville, finishing with 41 rebounds and 16 second chance points. Butler was led on the boards by Cymirah Williams, who had six. The Grizzlies also converted 17 points off turnovers.

The loss will drop Butler to 14-6 on the year and 9-6 in conference play. The Grizzlies will look to bounce back at home on Wednesday, hoping to avenge an earlier loss against rivals Hutchinson.
