Butler soccer moves up to third in NSCAA poll

Fresh off a thrilling 1-0 road victory Sunday at Laramie County, the Butler Grizzlies women's soccer team received its highest ranking ever in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Junior College Division I poll.

Butler (3-1-0) moved up one spot to third in the poll and was the only Jayhawk Conference team listed in the poll. Defending champion Tyler (Tex.) remained in the top spot followed by Iowa Western, who defeated the Grizzlies 1-0 in the season opener.

On Wednesday, the newest NJCAA poll came out. Butler was ranked No. 9 in that poll, the highest-ranked team with a loss.

Also in the NJCAA poll, Brevard (Fla.) is ranked No. 1 and Tyler is ranked No. 2. Butler will host both teams at home this weekend, playing Brevard on Friday at 4 p.m. at the Butler soccer field, then taking on Tyler at 11 a.m. Sunday at the BG Products Veterans Sports Complex.
