Two Butler soccer players earn All-American honors

Butler soccer standout Morgan Foster has been named a consensus All-American, earning first-team honors both from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) as well as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

In addition, Butler's Madison Wedekind was a second-team All-American as selected by the NSCAA.

Foster, a sophomore from Idaho Falls, Idaho (Skyline High School), now becomes a consensus All-American for earning first-team honors from both the NJCAA and NSCAA. She was the nation's leading scorer with 43 goals and 102 points this fall for the Grizzlies.

Wedekind was named a second-team NSCAA selection. The freshman from Wichita (Valley Center High School) was second in the nation in assists with 20 and also scored 15 goals of her own for the Grizzlies.

Butler finished the year by placing third at the NJCAA national tournament in Melbourne, Fla. in November. The Grizzlies were 21-3-2 on the year, the third straight year with 20 or more wins, and also won their third straight Jayhawk Conference championship and second straight Region VI championship.
