Urista-Chico, Aguilar score three apiece as Butler blanks Hesston

The Butler soccer team got a pair of hat tricks on its way to a 10-0 victory over Hesston on Friday at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex.

Rosa Urista-Chico and Yvette Aguilar both scored three goals apiece for the 17th-ranked Grizzlies, who also got scores from Madison Wedekind, Korrie Raney, Sheree Molina and Emma Samenus.

Urista-Chico now has a team-high six goals on the season, while Wedekind has five. She has scored in four consecutive games for Butler. Aguilar has four goals on the season. The other three players each had their first goals of the season and for freshmen Molina and Samenus, the first goals of their collegiate careers.

Butler got 90 shutout minutes from keeper Kelsi Langley, her second shutout in a row and the team's third consecutive shutout. The Grizzlies have now gone nearly two weeks without allowing an opponent to score.

After starting the season 0-3-1, Butler has won three matches in a row and evens its record at 3-3-1. The Grizzlies will remain at home on Sunday to face a talented Tyler (Texas) team which is 4-0 on the year and ranked fourth nationally. It will be the seventh time in the first eight games Butler has faced a team that has been ranked in the national poll at some point this season.
