Butler Soccer set to open Spring 2015 vs NCAA D1

After coming off a fourth consecutive trip to the NJCAA National Tournament in 2014, the Grizzlies will open their Spring 2015 schedule this weekend in Tulsa, OK.  The Grizzlies will travel to Oral Roerts University where they will play the University of Arkansas at 11 a.m. and then face Oklahoma State University at 2 p.m.

The Univeristy of Arkansas is a member of the SEC and finished the 2014 season with a record of 9-7-6 (4-4-3) while BIG 12 Oklahoma State finished the season 10-10-1 (5-2-1) and appeared in the NCAA National Tournament.

The Grizzlies are coming off a 2014 season that had them finish 16-5-1 and qualify for a fourth straight national tournament.  The four consecutive qualifications is the longest active streak in the NJCAA.  The Grizzlies finished the year ranked in the top ten of both national polls (NJCAA and NSCAA) and were ranked as high as #3.

Butler continues to build some of the most difficult community college match schedules available and the Spring of 2015 will be no different.  The Grizzlies will face six NCAA institutions in addition to hosting an NJCAA Region VI tournament to conclude the spring.
