Butler posts third-straight shutout in win over Northern Oklahoma

The Butler soccer team remained undefeated on the season with a 2-0 win over Northern Oklahoma on Thursday at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex.

The sixth-ranked Grizzlies (3-0 overall) received goals from Lexi Clark and Amy Strath in the win. All three of Butler's games this season have been decided by identical 2-0 scores.

Butler's first goal was set up by Paige Achey, who fired a shot that ricocheted off of the frame. Lexi Clark was there to kick the ball back into the net to give Butler a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute.

Achey also played a role in the second goal as she was found inside the box giving the Grizzlies a penalty kick. Amy Strath netted her second penalty kick goal of the season, making it a 2-0 score in the 82nd minute.

Jami Reichenberger posted her third clean sheet as Butler's goalkeeper, making five saves against Northern Oklahoma.

Butler has now played 270 minutes this season without allowing a goal from the opposition.

The Grizzlies will play another home game on Sunday evening with a 7 p.m. kickoff against Rose State College from Oklahoma.
