No. 10 Butler blanks Dodge for sixth home shutout

Butler soccer continued its dominance at home this season with a 7-0 win over Dodge City on Friday night at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex.

The Grizzlies have won all six games at home this season, still without allowing a goal on their home turf. Butler has outscored its opponents 37-0 at the stadium this year.

Jaclyn Means had her second hat trick in the first half in the last two games, leading Butler with three goals. Rosa Urista-Chico had a goal and an assist, as did Colleen Howland. In the second half. The Grizzlies led 5-0 at intermission, with Lauren Allan and Jessica Quizada adding goals in the second half.

Goalkeeper Jami Reichenberger added her sixth shutout of the season without even having to make a save. Butler had 12 shots on goal. Butler had five corner kicks to just one for Dodge City.

The Grizzlies, ranked 10th in the NJCAA poll and fifth in the NSCAA poll, are now 6-2 overall. Butler is now 2-0 in conference play, having outscored its two conference opponents 25-0.

Butler will now go on the road for its first conference game away from home, as the Grizzlies travel to Coffeyville on Sunday for a 5 p.m. kickoff. Butler will also be seeking its first road victory, as Butler lost two games in Texas in their only other games away from BG Products Veterans Sports Complex.
