Butler Soccer to play four Saturdays in April

Butler Soccer has announced their 2018 Spring Schedule.  The Grizzlies will play four Saturdays in April (7, 14, 21, 28) against NCAA DI, DII and NAIA opponents.  "The spring season is an opportunity for our players to compete against live opposition on four different dates.  We look forward to seeing which freshmen will rise into prominent roles as sophomores.  These matches against four-year institutions also allow all our players to get good measurement of where they are in relation to other players in four-year programs, in addition to these four-year coaches see our players up close and personal," explained head coach Adam Hunter

Along with five other institutions the Grizzlies have entered into a spring league that will see them play a single round robin, culminating with a final match date hosted at Butler on April 21.  The six schools that will be participating in this inaugural spring league are:  Newman University (NCAA DII), Emporia State (NCAA DII), Northwest Oklahoma State (NCAA DII), Friends University (NAIA), Tabor College (NAIA), and Butler Community College (NJCAA).  Play dates for the spring season are April 7, 14, 21.

The team will finish their spring season when they travel to Kansas City on April 28 to face two NCAA DI programs.  The Grizzlies will play Big XII start-up Kansas State University and the WAC undefeated league champions, University of Missouri Kansas City.
