The Butler track and field teams traveled to Fort Hays State University on Friday, March 23 to open up the 2012 Outdoor Season.
The ladies were led by Remona Burchell, who won the 100 and 200 meter dashes. Also having a great day was Latesha Bigby, who won the 400 meter hurdles in a national qualifying time of 1:05.98. She also set personal bests in high jump (5'3 ¾") and long jump (17'7 ½").
On the men's side, Emanuel Thornton brought home two first-place finishes. Thornton won the 400 meter hurdles and was the lead off leg for the winning 4 x 400 meter relay team. Joining Thornton on the 4 x 400 Relay was Aaron Cain, Taylor Parker and Devery Robley.
